The
Rauch family started the business in Philadelphia and still own and
operate it today. It all started when Clyde Rauch, Sr. was working for
Barclay-White during World War II. Already with four children, he agreed
to build some bookcases for a friend for $400. At this very same time
Clyde Sr. somehow found out about a carload of surplus tape someone
wanted to unload. So he took the $400 needed to build the bookcases
and bought the tape instead. With the profit made by selling the surplus
tape, he now went out and bought new tape. This was the beginning, and
yes, somehow the man did get his bookcases!
Over
the years, M&C went from selling surplus tape to offering the full
range of converting capabilities of a global adhesive specialist. Our
well-established relationships with 3M, Avery, Dennison, tesa, Rogers
Poron, Adhesives Research and other major tape manufacturers help us to
work with our customer’s Just In-Time inventory requirements. With
a reputation for producing where no one else can has led us to assist
our customers with reducing total material and manufacturing costs.
